La La is the alter-ego of Lauren Andrew, a DJ and curator hailing from Glasgow, now based in London. Lauren began her musical journey purchasing her first set of decks from local Glasgow institute Rubadub, and it wasn’t long before she took to DJing across the city. Regular appearances at FLY Club in Edinburgh quickly lead to Lauren being invited to join the crew’s renowned list of residents, a title she has held down for the past six years.
Lauren has also curated parties at the world renowned Sub Club, where she welcomed some of electronic music’s finest purveyors, such as Nicolas Jaar and Detroit Swindle to the basement. Lauren’s intricate knowledge of dance music history shines through in her sets, demonstrated by her off the cuff selections of classic and modern House music during her debut Boiler Room set in May 2019 – where she played alongside the likes of Soundstream, Folamour and Kornel Kovacs. It is of no surprise that she had secured her second appearance on the platform within 3 months of her debut.
Lauren’s signature sound has carried her across Scotland, with the likes of Sub Club, Tunnels Aberdeen and FLY Open Air festival firmly under her belt, she is now setting her sights on the rest of the UK and beyond. 2022 is set to be a breakout year for the hotly tipped DJ, securing a weekly show on RINSE FM and dates at Circoloco, , HI Ibiza, Amnesia, Cocorico, Fabric, Motion and Parklife.
She has also launched Brand New – a label for Scottish only artists with Eps from Pentland Park and Soul Nua. With remixes from Eli Escobar, Mamami, 1 800 Girls and Manpower. Late 2022 will see the launch of the sister label Sound As, with an EP from Spencer Parker.
