Après les projets phares ‘Deli Daydreams’ et ‘Town’s Dead’, voici ‘Phantom of the Afters’. Les deux premiers albums de Kojaque ont changé à jamais le paysage du hiphop irlandais. Maintenant basé à Londres, ‘Phantom of the Afters’ de Kojaque trace les contours flous des traumatismes de l’enfance, de la dépression, du chagrin et de l’amour. Cet album trouve le réconfort et l’assurance dans l’acceptation de soi, en se débarrassant de ce qui ne sert plus. Following the landmark projects Deli Daydreams and Town’s Dead, comes Phantom of the Afters. Kojaque’s first two records changed the Irish hiphop landscape forever. Now London-based, Kojaque’s Phantom of the Afters traces the blurred outlines of childhood trauma, depression, grief and love. This is an album that finds comfort and assurance in the acceptance of the self, through shedding what no longer serves. Informed by the pursuit of simplicity, while meditating on heartbreak, home and health, Phantom of the Afters finds Kojaque reflecting on the landmarks of a young life, in all their beauty and complexity.
Kojaque’s directorial vision continues to create incredible videos for his tracks, vignettes that explore intimacy, isolation, hedonism, and offer a brilliantly surreal immersion into the Soft Boy world. In 2020, Kojaque performed a COLORS show with the track Shmelly, the first single from forthcoming debut album Town’s Dead due for release on June 25th this year.
