Dans l’impossibilité de partir en tournée, le trio de Melbourne composé de Lilli Trobbiani, Luke Scott et Rory Trobbiani a plutôt passé leur temps à enregistrer leur premier EP avec l’aide d’Archie Shannon de Floodlights.
Voyant le jour en octobre dernier, le premier EP de HighSchool est annoncé par un tout nouveau single, » Sirens « , titre immédiat du groupe, où le chant sinistre de Rory est associé à une batterie hypnotique, à des sons graves et à une musique d’ambiance.
En contraste direct, la vidéo qui l’accompagne rend hommage aux classiques de l’horreur gothique du Sud
comme Children of the Corn, Amityville Horror et The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Tournée dans l’ hôpital psychiatrique d’Ararat et dans la campagne de l’État de Victoria, elle met en évidence le vide étrange des paysages australiens et des longues routes. La vidéo a été réalisée par Joel Wilson, produite par Rory Trobbiani et Joel Wilson, et tournée par Aaron Potter.
Depuis peu, HighSchool a depuis signé sur le label britannique indépendant Dalliance Recordings (Gia Margaret, Francis of Delirium, Wilsen).

Unable to tour, the Melbourne trio of Lilli Trobbiani, Luke Scott and Rory Trobbiani have insteadspent their time recording their debut EP with the help of Floodlights’ Archie Shannon and makingstunning music videos for each track they’ve recorded.Seeing light of day this October, HighSchool’s debut EP is being announced by brand-new single‘Sirens’, another immediate track from the band where Rory’s ominous vocals are paired withhypnotic drums, low-slung bass hooks and saloon piano.In direct contrast, the accompanying video stylistically pays homage to southern gothic horrorclassics like Children of the Corn, Amityville Horror and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.Shot at the infamous Ararat Psychiatric Hospital and throughout rural Victoria, it showcases theeerie emptiness of Australia’s landscapes and long open roads. The video was directed by JoelWilson, produced by Rory Trobbiani and Joel Wilson, and shot by Aaron Potter.First appearing last summer with the self-released debut single ‘Frosting’, HighSchool have sincesigned to rising UK indie Dalliance Recordings (Gia Margaret, Francis of Delirium, Wilsen) andtheir two subsequent singles (‘New York, Paris and London’ and ‘De Facto’) has seen their infectiousblend of sun-dappled pop and industrial post-punk evolve, quickly growing word of mouth on theband and garnering press love from the likes of DIY, PAPER, NME and So Young. ‘Sirens’ isreleased on August 18th with HighSchool’s debut EP to follow this October
